I've just noticed David's obituary - only 7 years too late! I was one of his students at Ryerson in the 1970s.
He was a great teacher, one that I remember very clearly (45 years later). The precision of his instructions to help largely illiterate engineering students communicate on paper were incredibly helpful. And much appreciated. He was also a very kind man.
I was very pleased to have known him.
