Obituary of Joan Marie Quinlan

Quinlan, Joan Marie (Asling) -

Passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side on December 3, 2017.   After living a spirited 92 years she will be missed, but also remembered and celebrated by her family, friends and nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) and their infant daughter, Wendy.    She leaves behind her children, Jane (Gary), Debbie, Patricia (Richard) and Kevin (Marion).  She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Erin, Patrick, Ryan, Devin, Sean, Matthew and Meagan and she delighted in all four great-grandchildren: Alice, Abigail, Oran and Mae.  Joan outlived her brothers Ken and Jack Asling.  She is remembered by her dear cousin, Shyrle McGill, her sister-in-laws Marg Quinlan, Mary Quinlan, Violet Quinlan and her dear friend Sonya Lambert.    Joan's family appreciates the tender loving care given by her private caregivers from Dignity First Care for Seniors and the caregiving team at Bethany Lodge, as well as the care provided for many years by Dr.Bertram Forse.

Friends will be received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home 166 Main St. North on Tuesday, December 5th from 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 12noon on Wednesday at St. Patrick's Parish 5633 Hwy 7, Markham, ON L3P 1B6. Reception to follow at church. Interment will happen at a later date, with immdeiate family, in Kinmount.
Donations to a charity of your choice or to the Parkinson's Society of Canada will be appreciated by the family.
