Obituary of Marilyn Oldfield

OLDFIELD, Marilyn - May 15 1931 - Nov 5 2017, OLDFIELD, Edith Marilyn (nee Bothwell) -- Marilyn passed away peacefully in Markham at the age of 86. Beloved mother of Elizabeth Brown (Ralph) and the late Ann Rennie, Mother-in-law to Doug Rennie (Edith), Grandma to Lynn Brown, Roy Brown, & Michelle Rennie, Great Grandma to Tiyanna Rennie. Sister to the late Peter Bothwell and daughter of the late Clarence Bothwell and Edith Bothwell (Whitebread). Marilyn will be remembered as the proud founder and operator of EAGLEWOOD Family Resort in Pefferlaw for 30 years until 2015. Eaglewood was designed for all people including those with disabilities. Marilyn once said some of her best education and experiences were up north as a youth at camp. She wanted to share Eaglewood for people to have their best life experiences too. Marilyn shared her giving spirit endlessly donating effort and time, and has been a leader when trying to do something meaningful for others. -- Friends can visit the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street N. (Markham Road) Markham on Wednesday November 8th from 6:30 till 8:30pm and on Thursday November 9th from 1:00 pm until time of Service in the Chapel at 2 pm. Reception to follow. Cremation.
