I was saddened to hear of Marilyn's passing. She was always a kind woman and we had interesting conversationalist. I think I was a little in awe of her because of Eaglewood (I used to live just up the road). My late Mom Vicky (also a nurse) worked with Marilyn at River Glen Haven. But my most fond memories are Marilyn (rather reluctantly) boarding one of my mothers mares who was in foal back in 2005. The mare Holly had been at Marilyn's barn no more than 2 weeks, when one morning we arrived, and there was the foal, healthy and standing up. Marilyn, My Mom and I and Marilyn shared some beautiful moments that spring, bonding with the mare Holly and her beautiful foal, over many cups of tea and much wonderful conversation. Beautiful memories!

My condolences to the family and friends on this sad news. I worked with Marilyn at Eaglewood, organising and putting together the annual Folk Festival. In a world of pretense and self aggrandisment Marilyn stood apart in her genuine commitment to improving the lives of others. What she accomplished at Eaglewood was truly remarkable and my respect for this feisty and unselfish woman - who gave up her front porch and home to music and artistic chaos every Summer - remains unbounded. I will always remember the joy and inspiration she instilled in her wheelchair bound visitors - able to "wheelfree" through the trails and pathways at the resort. Rest in Peace Marilyn. You really did "make a difference".

Marilyn was my charge nurse at River Glen Haven nursing home in Sutton 30 years ago. I loved working with her,a kind caring person who was always happy. She used to give me great advice and mentored me in the nursing field. I also would go to Eaglewood with my son who has disabilities and it didn't matter how busy she was,she always stopped for a chat. I will always think fondly of Marilyn, for all that she did for me.My sincerest condolences,I will pray for you all. Ruby Sedore

Two days ago I posted some memories of Marilyn along with photos on the Eaglewood Folk Festival Facebook group page. So far, over 2000 people have seen it and many have shared with others and posted their heartfelt comments - very touching. Marilyn was loved by many! Eaglewood Resort was a special place for sure and for 24 years between 1989 and 2013, was the host site of beloved Eaglewood Folk Festival. A festival patron once likened the unique "vibe" of the festival to an invisible dome that covered the entire 90 acre resort for three magical days. Marilyn was an integral part of the magic. She touched many with her kindness and generosity over the years - she had positive influence on hundreds of people's lives. Farewell Marilyn. May your new home have horses and lots of great music!

Liz, Ralph and family, please accept my deepest condolences for the passing of your mom. It was an honor to know Marilyn and work with her on creating the Eaglewood Earth Festival. She was one of a kind, a fierce advocate for people with physical disabilities and a good friend.
