I extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Don Anderson. I had the privilege to work with both Don and Michael during the construction of there new facility in Gormley in 2006-7 as well as the Steel Transfer Facility in Concord in 1994. Don was an honest hard working man who took pride in his work and company. I don't think he ever really retired. I always saw him around the original Stouffville facility and the new Gormley facility operating equipment or working in his office well into his 70's.

I had the pleasure of working with Don when Anderson Haulage constructed a steel distribution facility in Vaughan Ontario. Over the many months we worked together you could always find Don out in the North Yard on a loader ort some other piece of equipment playing with the gravel and levelling the yard. I could tell from the first time that we met he loved to play with big toiys.
As we neared coimpletion it was time for a contract and I can vividly remember DOn saying, why are we spending all this money, my word is my bond and we did in fact shake on many deals which he alkways lived up to,
Don was honorable and will be sady missed.

Don Anderson was one of those key forces that helped build the modern OTA. As a young person working at OTA, he was one of the voices that helped you understand what trucking was about and that doing things the right way was the only way to pursue things. He once blocked off an entire afternoon to teach me in his yard about the businesses of heavy haul and gave me many important insights into the business of trucking in general.
