Obituary of Rolf Bau

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Rolf Eugen Bau on Tuesday May 2, 2017 at Markham Stouffville Hospital, in his 85th year. He will be deeply missed by his children, who were his pride and joy: Horst (Lyn) and Jennifer (James). He enjoyed spending time with his three grand-daughters, Pamela, Madison and Sydney, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He is also survived by his two brothers, whom he loved dearly - Willi (Gisela) and Bruno (Inge) and their extended family in Germany. Rolf has left behind the love of his life, Elfriede, who was his soul mate and pillar of strength over the years. They were fortunate enough to have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2017; which is a testament to their unconditional love. Up until his very last day, Rolf was content, holding Elfriede's hand tenderly in the nursing home. Some of our fondest family memories of Rolf were up at his cottage in Sprucedale, ON, where he was happiest. Because of this, we are honoring his wishes to have a private family memorial only (not open to the public) and his ashes will be spread at the cottage on Doe Lake. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to a charity of your choosing in Rolf's memory. We love you dad - now, forever and always. You will live on in all of our hearts.
