My earliest memories of Aunt Bridgie are of sitting in her living room as a little boy in Gagetown NB watching TV. I remember no shortage of good stuff to eat. Sadly, many decades passed before I got to see her again – it was during the Toronto Airshow when I was able to say hi to her over the aircraft radio. She took me out to supper afterwards for the best Chinese food I have ever had. Bridgie did manage to visit my wife Cora and I in Nova Scotia and that was a pleasure. I recall a comment about the best BBQ’d steak she had ever had. I’m sure anyone reading this, that knew Aunt Bridgie well, is smiling at the repetitive theme of food being some important! Years ago I spotted an old beat up galvanized tub in the basement at my mother’s house. When I asked her about it she told me it was Allan and Bridgie’s and I swear I remembered bobbing for apples in that thing. I grabbed it and took it home. It has been holding boots and shoes in our front entry ever since – still has McPherson painted on the side of it too. Uncle Allan, Catherine, and Stephen - Cora, the kids, and I are very sorry for your loss. If we ever see you folks again we’ll have to go out for supper and share some memories of Aunt Bridgie…
