Obituary of Patricia Petura

PETURA, Patricia Gail - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Petura (nee Drimmie) on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the age of 70. Predeceased by her loving husband Jack and her parents, D'Arcy and Barbara (nee Rooney) Drimmie. Beloved mother of Kim (George) and Lynne (Ian). Adored grandma of Timothy, Carson, Abby, Erika, Kelly and Jake who were her greatest blessings and pride and joy. Survived by her siblings Bob (Helen), Mike (Lorraine), Chris (Jean Guy), Dan (Sandy) and Dave (Kristen). She will be dearly missed by all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her friends especially her dearest friend of 56 years, Lucy Anne Holliday (Paul) with whom she attended Notre Dame High School in the mid 60s. Pat worked for the Toronto Star Classifieds for over 40 years. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family and for her loving, caring and giving nature often volunteering her time in the community with CHATS and Meals on Wheels. Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed line dancing, and was an active member of book and PROBUS clubs. She loved the outdoors, spending time bird watching and hiking. Family and friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street N. (Markham Road), Markham, Ontario on Thursday, November 24, 2016 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 25 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 345 Glad Park Avenue, Stouffville at 11 am. Reception to follow. A private family burial will take place at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church in Stouffville or a charity of your choice.
