Obituary of Alan Laine

Laine, Alan Peter - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Alan Laine on January 11, 2013, of Brooklin, Ontario. Loving and cherished partner to Kathy; Devoted and caring father to Robert and Michael; Beloved son of Arvo and the late Liia Laine; Dear brother to Anita Barleben and her husband Michael; loving uncle to Caitlin and Brendan and lovingly remembered by our extended families, including Meghan and Michael and all our friends. Alan will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main St. N., (Markham Rd.), Markham, on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. To reflect Alan's lifelong love and dedication to hockey, and for those who wish, donations may be made to Jumpstart (jumpstart@cantire.com), a national charitable program that helps financially disadvantaged kids to participate in organized sport and recreation.
