I worked at Grafton Group from 1980 to 1983 as a French translator. Every morning, Mr. Topping would walk by my desk and greet me with a cheerful "Hello". After a few months, he asked if I would consider adding the function of his secretary to my job. I was very honoured to do so. Mr. Topping was always pleasant, kind, and generous. He never failed to send a congratulatory note to those who had success and a thank you note to those who congratulated him. He often spoke of his childhood, his mother, and his career. He was brave through his daughter's illness and was ecstatic at the arrival of his first grandchild, Charles. I have often thought of him fondly and wondered how he was doing. I offer my condolences to his family and I will continue to keep him in my prayers.

Sincerest condolences to Peggy and family. Ted was an example of life lived to the fullest. In my earliest years as a young teacher in Stouffville, Ted was always supportive of my programmes and I will always have memories of his roles in Music Mania. Rest in peace, Ted. Jim and Shirley Rehill

We have nice memories of being with Ted and Peg through our busy political days. They were special hosts for a gathering in their country home for us to meet many people. We enjoyed good times together. Condolences to the family.

My sincerest condolences to the family, saw the notice in the Toronto Star on Thurs. May 26/16. I met Mr. Topping when i was hired in 1983 as the receptionist at Grafton Group. he was a true gentleman, well-liked by the staff. We shared a love of baseball, especially the Blue Jays, and he shared the company tickets with me. My step-father and i enjoyed many games thanks to his generosity. He would often invite up to the 6th floor before i started work to have a cup of tea, and we had many enjoyable conversations on a variety of subjects. His son Ted Jr. was also very kind and easy to work with. Thank-you for allowing me to leave this message, had often thought about Ted Sr., the few years after i left the company. R.I.P. Mr. Topping

‘Pa’ embraced life like no other and touched so many people along the way. He has left us with endless memories filled with love, laughter, music, great stories and an inspiration to live our lives to the fullest… just as he did. I will miss his big ‘Pa’ hugs, words of wisdom, funny one liners and his devoted love. What a privilege it’s been to be his daughter Tannis.
