Obituary of Zireen Majid

Zireen Assim Majid August 26, 1939 - May 15, 2016 Peacefully passed away, surrounded by loving family, on Sunday, May 15 at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Beloved daughter of the late Abdool and Safihan Majid. Zireen will be greatly missed by her brothers and sister; Khalil, Hamil, Kem (Sheila), Morzena (Bill), and Rafi (Rowena). Cherished aunt of Kimberly, Carey (Francisco), Colin (Claire), Yasmin (Murat) and Karen. Loving great-aunt of Joaquin, Isabel, Jordan, Cameron and Amy. Zireen will also be fondly remembered by her cousins, relatives and her many friends from her long teaching career. Visitation and reception will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St N., Markham at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17. Funeral service at 1:30 pm, with burial immediately following at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Ajax-Pickering. A special Thank You to the nurses, doctors and staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital (the Rehabilitation and Intensive Care Units). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
