We will miss having Sue in our lives. She was strong-minded, strong-willed and funny. Though she leaves us behind, it's not forever. We like to imagine that she's joined Phil and Freckles in deck chairs on a dock by a lake, drinking Timmy's and laughing.

Sue didn't lose her battle with cancer - she lived courageously, with dignity, and loved with her whole heart. She took in so many people, including me, and made us family. Her death has left a huge void but I know she would want us to dance (probably to Pink or "When I See You Again"), drink Tim Horton's coffee, and take care of each other. For the rest of my life, I will be trying to live up to her opinion of me as a person.

Unfortunately as time moves forward we keep losing friends and family. Susan, Raymond, Kim, Larry, Ken and John spent quite some time together as kids growing up in don mount court. We played together, ate together, and fought together. Mostly we laughed - at least my memories. As we grew, we came back together in Bellville and again in Scarborough. Whether apart for years or just getting back together, for me, it felt like we never left the times when we were kids - watching Sue rolling skating or just having fun together. I miss those days. Sue was one of the sisters, Kim being the other, I never really had. Justin, Sam - sorry for your loss. I'm sorry I won't be able to make there. I'm out of town. John Fisico

In the early hours of Sunday morning I lost a very special person. Although I was not a blood relative this woman treated me like a son and I in turn treated her like my "Ma". I stayed at her home, ate at her table and spent time at her cottage with her son Justin. When she was diagnosed with skin melanoma she didn't say "woe is me" she just dealt with it the only way she knew how;head on. When it started to spread she continued fighting. She had a brain Tumour in late 2011 and ended up in a coma. She thought she was having a migraine and it wasn't until she woke up 5 days later that she realised the severity of her situation, but again she met it head on and kept fighting. Her husband passed in 2013 and she still kept up the fight. For years there has been a debate about the greatest fighter of all time. Well in my opinion it is Sue Marchello. She fought her whole life and it took cancer nearly 10 yrs to finally beat her. My heart goes out to Justin, Samantha, Holly, Scott, Ray and Julie at this sad time. I planned to come & see her on the 23rd of this month but she couldn't hold on any longer. Although I didn't get there in time I take solace in the fact she passed away knowing I tried my best to come and see her one last time. Sue was the best. She told it like it was and didn't pull any punches, but she loved you all very much and was always there when it mattered most. Although her loss has left a massive hole in all our lives she is suffering no longer and finally at peace. In the final years of her struggle she always used to say these words to me. " Andy, I'm tired of being sick and I'm sick of being tired. Well you rest in peace Ma, you've earned it. Love always. Andy x
