Obituary of Norma Bettencourt

Bettencourt, Norma 1930 - 2016 Norma passed away March 24th with loving family at her side in her residence at The Marleigh in Unionville. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent and her parents John and Alda Fernandes. She will be greatly missed by daughters Maureen Cowan, Suzanne McLean and their husbands John and Bruce, her sons Vince and Eoin, sister Anne Marie Reigber(Joachim), brothers Chris (Des), Peter (Jane), Bobby (Luana), Billy (Sandra)Fernandes, grandchildren Nicole Haynes (Greg), Brooke, Deana, Devin and Quinton Bettencourt and Sarah McLean. Norma came to Canada in 1976 with her family from Guyana. Norma always placed great emphasis on family and caring for others. She contributed her time and delicious desserts to many charitable events. She worked for many years in the family businesses then worked until retirement at Southland Corporation. Our family would like to thank caregivers at The Marleigh for their kindness and consideration of our mum. (Markham Road) Markham Wednesday April 6th 7-9pm. Service will be in the Chapel Thursday April 7th at 11am to be followed by a reception.
