Obituary of Carolyn Stevenson

Stevenson, Carolyn - It is with profound sadness but overwhelming gratitude for the gift of her life that we announce that Carolyn went home to Her Lord, whom she served so faithfully on Monday, December 17, 2012 with her family by her side in her 88th year. She will forever be loved and missed by her son Russell (Caryl,) and daughter Victoria (Peter). Cherished grandmother of Garner, Christopher and Dylan. She will be dearly missed by her nine siblings, her many nieces and nephews… Predeceased by her sister Evelyn and brother Lloyd. Carolyn was a remarkable woman. She made friends wherever she went and she touched many lives. Always a smiling, happy, positive person, Carolyn adopted many of her children's friends and was considered a 'mom to all'. She had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and special. We were fortunate to be the recipients of her unconditional love. Wherever we go, wherever we are she will always be in our hearts. Mom's faith in the Lord was strong and unwavering. We were blessed to be with her and hold her when our Heavenly Father called her home. "'What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life -- to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent, unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting" ' - Our great love for her will always be in our hearts. Her love for us always be with us; her moments in our memories and her lessons in our hearts We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful woman as our mother. She has taught us honesty, integrity, commitment, loyalty and perseverance. She was a woman of wisdom, humor and kindness, who awoke every morning expecting a good day. Carolyn's family always came first and her devotion to them was endless. Carolyn lived life to the fullest and touched the lives of all who knew her. She was tested many times - yet she never complained or strayed from the course. She just kept pressing forward. The spark of her tenacity, resilience and fierce loyalty and the warmth of her unconditional love will continue to inspire those who survive her. Our deepest gratitude is extended to Joan, Maude and all the staff at Bethany Lodge for their love and compassion over the past 6 years.
