Obituary of Compton Rodrigues

Rodrigues, Compton Theodore- passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday November 15, 2015 in his 89th year. Loving devoted husband and soulmate of Vera Juliet (Vasconcellos) of 68 years. Devoted father to Jacqueline, Diana, Sandra(George), Marc (Carla) and Suzanne (Oreste). A hero and loving papa to Marc (Michelle) , Michelle (Dave), Julie, Jessica (Matt) , Wesley,Jennifer (Marinos), Carly(Matt), Krista, Danielle (Anthony) and Michael and great- grandfather to Miya, Jack, Liam and Aria. Survived by his stepbrother Max (Janet) and sadly the passing of his sister Joyce on November 16, 2015, predeceased by his sisters Sheila, Natalie, Lillian, and stepbrothers Wesley and Colin. Will be greatly missed and never forgotten by Judy, Michael and his sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews and all his friends. During the Korean War he served as a seaman in the U.S. Merchant Navy and was a longtime member of the Markham Veteran's Association. A successful business owner for many years at Comtech Electric Plumbing and Heating on Main St. Markham and later Comtech Trading Co. Ltd. Thank you to our close family and friends for their love and support during this time as well as Compton's live in caregivers, CCAC and the Markham/Stouffville Palliative Care Team for their compassion and care which allowed Compton to remain in his own home until his passing. Friends will be received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home 166 Main St. North (Markham Rd.) Markham on Tuesday November 17th from 2pm-4pm and 7 pm to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday November 18th at 11am in the Chapel. Reception to follow with family and friends. Private burial with family in Locust Hill Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
