Janice, the girls and extended family. I was saddened to hear the news of Ross' passing. During my time at Confed Investment Counsel, I would see Ross walk by after meeting with someone from our group and would always say 'Hello'. I remember joining one of Confed's curling teams and seeing Ross curl on the other Confed team was special. His annual pool party was always a hit and he truly was a great host. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to the whole family.

On behalf of the 'old' boys and girls at the Unionville Curling Club, Ross was always a pleasure to curl with and against over the decades. Competitive, a smiling face, a helping hand always, a big heart. Sincere condolences to Janice and the family.

We are so saddened by the passing of Ross. He was a wonderful man that was so generous and passionate. We especially remember Ross as our Santa Clause at Armour Heights Church last year. I (Debbie) was the photographer and Sarah was his elf. We had great fun with him that day and will never forget that time spent with him. He delighted children and adults with his enthusiasm, humour and his big genuine "HO,HO,HO". He was always willing to step up to the plate at Armour...especially if it meant helping the youth or the underprivileged. We will miss him.

My regrets to Janice, Julie and Christy. When we first joined Bayview, Ross was so helpful. I appreciated his overwhelming enthusiasm and zeal for curling (and other sports). His interesting stories and willingness to help others were outstanding. He was so proud of the accomplishments of Julie and Christy. Our thoughts and prayers to the family.

To Janie and Family Was very sad to hear of the passing of Ross. I did not have the privilege of getting to know him well (not being a Sundridgitte), but when our paths did cross, it was an enjoyable and interesting interaction. As well, not only was he the best golfer in the family, Ross was always polite and courteous to all around him. He will be missed by all that knew Ross. Glenn (Jones)

I am so shocked and saddened by the death of Ross. He was a school chum, full of vim and vigor and always sporting a smile. Our paths didn't cross often but when the extended family got together it was as if time hadn't passed. My condolences to his wife Janice, daughters Christie and Julie, sister Liz and of course to Jackie, Susie and Judy his three nieces, daughters of his brother Mike. My thoughts are with you all.

Ross was 15 when I was born. By the age of 5 I had almost mastered the game of poker. Hard not to when your babysitter and his friends are always palying cards in the basement. Our annual Bro Sis CNE trip always included the TTC on the way down and a taxi ride on the way home. He was so proficient at all of the games it was the only way we could transport everything. He always saved BINGO for last. Giant stuffed dogs and a huge long orange snake stand out. Snowmobiling at the Anderson Farm on the Mono-Adjala Town Line. Yes, Janice is an Anderson as well. Trips to the bowling alley at Avenue Road and Cranbrooke. Always 5 pin when I was in tow. A Family trip to Montreal when Ross played in the Canadian Open golf tourney. And so ended any thoughts of going Pro. But he could still walk to York Downs and Don Valley. Hours and hours of Solitaire while watching Golf or Football or Hockey, some sport on TV. When Mom and Dad would travel we would take turns distracting the babysitter while the other slipped out to the kitchen to dump the dinner she had made in the garbage. Could always survive on Peanut Butter and Hot Dogs. Growing up on De Vere, when I would be out playing with my friends, there wasn't a dinner bell, there was a dinner whistle. Ross could whistle louder than anyone I have ever known. He would stand on the front porch and I could hear him from two blocks away. I would run like mad or there would be a huge tickle fight. Tickle fights were a given when he wanted me off the couch. I remember a ridiculous looking motor scooter for a while. He called it a motor cycle but there was no way.
Golf, Curling, Bridge, Parties, Dancing, Planning Special Events, always promoting the success of youth and his signature Nick Names !!!
Memories to cherish, constant and true, memories to cherish of the Brother I knew. Liz Anderson a.k.a. Boo Boo.

I curled for Ross with Robbie and Mike at TCS&CC in the 70s. Our team had success because of Ross. He was a great skip and true competitor who could call and make shots like no other. He was a true friend and teammate who had a kind heart and spirit. My thoughts and prayers go out to Janice, Julie and Christy, and all in the Anderson family for strength at this difficult time.

Sincere condolences to the Anderson family. Ross was a one-of-a-kind in my estimation - single digit golfer in his younger years (wish I'd played with him then, some talent may have rubbed off); he 'owned' the TCSCC Chisolm spiel; straight shooter, rules stickler. I've told him in life and repeat now 'Ross, you never did anything half a_ _ ed in your life! RIP olde friend. Don Kawaja

Janice, the girls and extended family. I was saddened to hear the news of Ross' passing. My fondest memories is Ross being the gracious host at the Confed Pension department pool parties he would have. Catching up with him at the curling club when a bonspiel would bring me that way... the pride he exuded when talking about his girls was very clear. He will be missed.

Ross will be remembered for many things not the least of which would be his competitive spirit be it golf curling or bridge! Ross "raised the bar" when it came to a sense of fair play. He followed the rules in all his endeavors. I had the pleasure of knowing Ross from the age of 2 months! along with his big brother Mike and what a pleasure it was! Rest in Peace boys....you made your mark on this planet!

My deepest condolences to Janice, Julie and Christy. Ross was a great competitor in both sports and cards. While he always played his best and wanted to win, he wanted to win fairly and was one of the most ethical people I have ever known. I was so very fortunate to have him mentor my bridge game and have him as a partner over the past few years. Rest in peace my friend

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I find myself writing this message. I have many fond memories of Ross as we have been friends for over 50 years. During those years, Ross and I spent many times in competition together either at the TCSCC on the curling ice or in warmer times golfing or playing football. As well, many happy evenings were spent socializing over a friendly game of cards. Ross was a wonderful friend and I will truly miss him. Rest in Peace! To Janice and Family, my prayers are with you.

My favorite memories of Uncle Ross go back to him bouncing us on his knee when we were kids, chanting the "Hitch-A-Canegie" verse. We would love it so much and beg him to do it again and again. He loved kids and related to them so well. All our children thought he was the coolest and most fun great-uncle! I can picture him getting in water fights at the cottage with the kids, chasing them down the hill into the lake with them screaming and laughing the whole way. I also have fond memories of him sitting in Sundridge, at the top of the hill, playing Suduko happily. Every summer I would ask him to tell me the story of my father, when they were younger, fixing the cards in bridge so he had the "perfect" hand. Uncle Ross knew what my dad was up to, and finally made him come clean, but years later, when he would tell the story he would laugh and laugh like it had just happened yesterday. Watching him tell the story was just as good as the story itself. We will miss him and his laugh!

I have known Ross since my early days at the Toronto Cricket Club in the 70's. He was a competitor who would not quit until there was no other option. Nothing made him prouder than being able to watch his daughters compete in the Canadian Curling finals last year. He will be missed by a great many people Iam so sorry to have heard he has been taken at such an early age and wish the best to all of the family at this most difficult time.
