Obituary of Patricia Keeling

Keeling Patricia (Pat) Anne Pat passed away peacefully at home with her family at age 68 after a determined fight with Alzheimer's Disease. Beloved wife and best friend of Neil for 42 years, incredibly loving mum to Scott (Kim) and Sara (Steve). Cherished nanny to Jake, Ethan and Sophie. Pre-deceased by father Cyril and Vera Rogerson, and much loved in-laws "Sis" and Garf. Sister to Chris, Terry (Ann), Mo (Dave), Pam, Pete (Janet) and Pamela (Terry). Pat and Neil came to Canada in 1975 from the UK and, with the exception of a 2 year stay in Winnipeg, made their home in Markham. In the UK, Pat was a midwife and delivered hundreds of babies both at people's homes (transportation by bike) and in hospitals. After her own children went to school in Markham, Pat re-entered the workforce and in 1990 Pat was the inaugural Director of the Town's Little Children's daycare centre in the Markham Municipal offices. Pat retired in 2003 to devote herself to nursing her aging mother. A memorial service for Pat was held on Friday, October 23 at the Dixon Garland Funeral Home, Markham. Afterwards, close family and friends gathered at Pat's home to raise a glass to toast this wonderful, much loved person.
