Just the mention of his name brings back so many exceptional memories. I remember how full of life and boisterous both he and his stories continue to be. He and his family welcomed me into the fold from a very young age and I'm happy to say he has left an indelible mark on my life and in my heart. Jim was a great friend, influence and supporter to me while teaching at MDHS and later when the Men of Note were formed. I will always remember his kindness, and friendship through the good times and the difficult times when he offered me great comfort and support. I am so sad to hear of Jim's passing. He was a kind, warm, funny man. Growing up the Sloan family reunions were always a little more enjoyable with Jim's sense of humour and wonderful stories. I am so glad we were able to spend a little time with Jim and Barb last year and see the grace and acceptance with which they both faced this awful disease. He lived a wonderful full life and leaves a beautiful legacy in his children and grandchildren. Liz Sloan
