Obituary of Louise Winterstein
WINTERSTEIN, Mary Louise (nee Grant)-
Surrounded by her family on July 20, 2015 at the Markham Stouffville Hospital, was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. One of my cousins always said that I wanted to have the last word, so here I go "Growing up in North Toronto and at Stony Lake, I met the love of my life Edward and we were happily married for 37 wonderful years. Soon followed three beautiful children, Lee, Shannon (Brooke), and Amanda (Chris, Jason, Hayden). They truly were the pride and joy of our lives, and with their love and encouragement we laughed, cried and celebrated this wondrous journey. Along the way, I earned a BA from University of Waterloo, became an author, and faculty member in the School of Business at Centennial College, and enjoyed dedicating myself to over 22 years of learning and teaching.
We travelled well and wisely, but were always happiest to return home to family and friends. Those trips to Scotland! From seeing my Grant cousins once a year to living together in another country, we survived well. I was also blessed with all of the wonderful Winterstein's in my life, who had my back and were always there with me. I had a large group of friends, who supported me on this journey and I wish to thank the many colleagues and close friends throughout. Remembering there are no rules, PA, just want to play the game - I think I did it well. God bless."
In grateful appreciation for excellent care and compassion to Dr. Mataya Trinkaus and the staff at MSH, donations may be made to the Markham Stouffville Hospital (Chemo Clinic). Friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), Markham on Friday, July 24, 2015, from 11:00 am until the time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 pm.
