We knew Dave through his visits to our office when making deliveries from the Pump House. At all times he would arrive with that winning smile of his. We will miss this good hearted man with the gentle soul.
Rest in Peace Dave. Our sincere condolences to the family.

Rest om Peace Dave...we met Dave a few years ago when we were fortunate enough to have Cam enter our lives. As we got to know Cam and see his strength and values, we knew that his father would be someone special and we were not disappointed. Dave, we will miss seeing you with the boys and Wren and as they grow older i am sure you will always be in their hearts as in ours. John and Sue

Cameron and Matthew your father was one our favourite people. He touched our lives and helped to make us all who we are through his gentle, quiet nature. We will forever have a special place in our hearts for him. All of our love to you and your families.

What a sad loss. Although I had only a few encounters with Dave as an adult, I was delighted when our daughter and Cam became friends. Our admiration grew over years as we saw what great kids he was bringing up. Dave was a star athlete in high school; not great in stature, but with great heart. To Cam, Matt and Dave's siblings and families, our condolences. Anne and Wayne Archer

I first met Dave when he transferred to Markham District High School around 1986/87. We soon found out that he played hockey and he tried out and made the Markham Travelling All Star Team. He was a great addition to the team, very skilled, relentless and just a fun guy to be a round, always quick to share a laugh. We played together for a winning season and enjoyed each others company. By fortunate coincidence my son Jason and Matt are close friends and it warms my heart to know that there is an ongoing connection. Miss you Dave and heart felt condolences to the family. Joe Praskey

Your unknowing strength is your power, it subconsciously empowers others around you and makes them better people just from being in your presence. Your happy presence was your present to all of us. R.I.P. Our thoughts are with you.

Dave, a true and constant friend for 50 years. A man who loved and lost, yet faced his diversity with a stoic smile. Dave took great pride, and justly so, in his sons, Cam and Matt, their wives Ali and Katie and the grandkids. Even in his last days his thoughts were for and of them. Just mentioning them brought a smile to his face. Many thanks for your unrelenting friendship and love. Your parting leaves us all rather lonely. Our thoughts are with the family. Love Aunt Barb & Uncle David

I consider it an honour a privilege and pleasure that Dave was my colleague and friend. The two of us spent more waking hours with each other than anyone else in our lives and it was Dave that made it so easy. It was an honour to work with him; he was an "old school" guy. He didn't miss a day, he was always early, and did his best to help out in any way he could.
It was a privilege to work with him; he was the calming voic'e of reason to me, he helped me make some difficult decisions both at work and in my personal life. When ever I asked him something he didn't tell me what I wanted to hear; he gave me his opinion.
Most of all it was a pleasure to be around him on a day to day basis. He was the best audience an amateur comedian like me could ever ask for. He was always in for a laugh or a practical joke. He took an interest in the people at work and what was going on in their lives outside of the daily grind. He was also the MOST cheerful guy that I have ever ran into. Everyone associated with Dave at work liked him. He was best.
RIP buddy, to steal a line from you, "hit it long and straight" . I'll miss you.

I spent 19 years working with Dave at the Pump House and we have a lot of memories and laughs. Dave was a really caring, compassionate person and it was my honor to have know him I will miss him. He also teased me because I was 2 months older than him. I remember when he was getting excited about Sam being born and then more grandchildren came along. Cam and Matt and family please accepted my condolences in the lost of your dad. R.I.P. Dave love Cheryl

On July 1st we lost the best friend that anyone could hope for. Dave was a kind, caring compassionate man who always saw the best in everyone. He was optimistic beyond limits. No matter what life threw at him he met every challenge with the belief that everything would be alright. I was proud to call him my friend and will miss him greatly. Cam, Matt and family please accept my deepest condolences. Tom

Dear Cam & Matt and your families, I'm very sorry to hear of your dad's death. I remember visiting your father and your family's home as a child as it was just around the corner from my grandmother Elsie Archer's home on Galsworthy Avenue. Thinking of you and your family. Brian Reusch
