You were always there for your granchildren.
You raised seven children of your own amd even while still raising the youngest ones you became a grandmother. At the age of thirty -nine.
Yet, with grace and love you helped your eldest daughter raise her son and hosted your son and his wife and their two children every Fiday.
You cooked fantastic meals . Every Friday was homemade fish and chips.--Helen's secret recipe.
Your cabbage rolls, your lasagna, your beef stew, your stuffed peppers, and your chili. Your great roasts that we came home to after church on Sunday.
And so many more dishes warmed your kitchen.
Even when people stopped in unannounced and uninvited you fretted over them and made sure they were fed.
How did you do it?
You are a woman of Grace.
You got up at three in the morning every Christmas to put turkeys in the oven.--enough turkey to feed all your children, their spouses and the grandchildren whom you and Harry warmly welcomed to spend Christmas at your home.
Then, only one week later you would do it all again...for New Year's. Another turkey feast for your family and extended family.
You gave of yourself with all your heart.
Even after you entered your senior years you were still caring for your grandchildren, your husband and your beloved great-granddaughter, Shannon.
You sacrificed your time and energy so that others would be comfortable.
You constantly gave to others with hardly a thought for yourself.
How many women could be such a gracious and loving grandmother at the age of thirty-nine?
You, Helen Olga Denby Maynard are a woman amongst all women and we are so blessed to have known you.
I love you.
Hope loves you.
God loves you.
I hope htere is maple walnut ice-cream in heaven. You deserve it.
