I lived with the MacInnis family as a Ward of the Crown from age 10 to 18, leaving in 1983. My biological mother passed away June 21, 2023 just two weeks ago. I didn't know Mary, George and Marina had passed but found out while I was in Toronto visiting. Condolences to those who loved and cared for all of them. Unlike (Little) Mary [ Davis ], I was not one of the favoured foster kids and did not bond in that way despite 8 years of living with the family. However, I do have lots of memories to share. I remember a lot of cigarette smoking, hair dying, and hockey and soap opera watching. I also remember several trips back to Cape Breton Island and I really did appreciate those adventures. I also remember being able to go to summer camp where we sailed, water skied, rode horses and learned archery and riflery. Without a doubt those experiences were unique and I am grateful that I was able to have them. Hello to Little Mary if you end up reading this. I hope you and Mark and Keith are all healthy and happy.
