Obituary of Austin Tedford
TEDFORD, Austin Jonathan -
Austin was born in North York, Ontario on April 4, 1989, to his loving parents Gail Manning and Ronald Tedford. Austin's family also included two older sisters, Lindsay Manning and Lauralee Tedford, both of Markham. Austin resided with his family in Markham for all of his life. Austin passed away August 2, 2014, at the age of 25, after a courageous 15-year battle with a brain tumor. Austin also held a place in the Penny family of Markham and will be dearly missed by Samantha, Alyssa, Danielle, Wendy, Brian, Ava and Lily. His best friends Jared MaGuire and Mike Bridson will also miss him terribly.
Austin was loyally and lovingly cared for in his home during his time of decline by his, sisters Lindsay, and Lauralee, his mother Gail and friends Alyssa, Samantha and Wendy.
In the days leading up to his death in the palliative care unit at Markham Stouffville Hospital, Austin was surrounded by the people who loved him the most and were determined to make sure that he had the best care. His sister Lindsay and his friend Alyssa were with him at the end.Brilliant, loving, compassionate, and determined, this illness was not going to slow him down. Even through brain surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, Austin was steadfast and continued with his education, graduating from Seneca College at York University, in the Television and Broadcasting program in 2011 and Centennial College in 2013 from the Software Engineering Technology Program specializing in Interactive gaming, Austin worked as a software engineer, developing software.
Austin was passionate about many things, his friends, his motorcycle, his car, Dr. Who, gaming, especially Final Fantasy, chicken, Korean BBQ, bacon, Menchies, poutine, super heroes, The Big Bang Theory, and jet skiing. He also loved his dog Scooby, the cottage, working on his computer, creating amazing video game systems, Superman, snowboarding and being a daredevil. Friends will be received at the DIXON GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street Markham North, (Markham Road), Markham on Wednesday, August 6th from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel on Thursday at 11am. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery followed by reception at the funeral home.
