Obituary of Patrick Murphy
Patrick "Paddy" Murphy
January 8, 1973 - May 1, 2014
It is with great sadness that we share in the passing of a wonderful husband, dedicated father, loving son, brother, and loyal friend. Following a 2 year, courageous battle with cancer, Patrick, 41, leaves his wife, Kristine Peacock, daughters Falynn (9), Waverlea (6) & Nievh (2), and Laclin (19).He also leaves his parents, Pat and Deb Murphy and siblings, Sara and Brian. Patrick's in-laws, Murray & Donna Peacock, John & Lisa, nephew Ian, and Aunt Judy also share the family's sadness. We take comfort knowing that Patrick joins his mother, Sandra Ryan (2007). Patrick touched so many lives and we wish to acknowledge the many friends, extended family, colleagues, team-mates, coaches, teachers, classmates, parents, neighbours, acquaintances, businesses and strangers who have helped support Patrick and the family during this difficult time. From meals to playdates, carpooling, grocery shopping, laundry and house-keeping has helped the family tremendously. A beautiful tribute page, "Remembering Patrick Murphy", has been created on Facebook for Patrick's children, to treasure his legacy for the years to come. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes to the dedicated oncology team, especially Dr. Trinkaus, for taking such good care of Patrick during the past 2 years. Patrick's chemo "girlfriends" at Markham-Stouffville Hospital, Dr Ing, the nurses and staff in 3WH, the social work team, and Dr Patterson and the Palliative care team took such great care of Patrick and the whole family. Please join us in celebrating Patrick's life at the visitations and memorial service. We ask that everyone show their solidarity by wearing green as this is Paddy's favorite colour. The services and atmosphere will be child centered; children are welcome and encouraged and there will be a space for quiet activities, colouring and movies. In lieu of flowers a small donation in Patrick's memory may be made to the following under noted links.
"In my life, I love you more..." John Lennon, The Beatles, In My Life.
