Betty and I met 20 years ago while walking dogs in our Markham neighbourhood and we stayed friends ever since.
We would frequently stop to chat about our families and of course - dogs! Anyone who loved dogs as much as Betty, is a loving, kind-hearted and warm person.
Betty was quite computer savvy and used the InterNet as one means of keeping in touch with her family. Whenever she learned that I was planning an Olympic visit, she would email Olympic sponsors requesting a few of their pins and surprise me by giving them to me to use for my pin trading efforts during my Olympic visit.
Betty had a great feeling of independance. Several times I saw her carrying large bags of groceries and would stop my car and offer her a ride home but she always refused the offer!
Betty, you will always be remembered for the many pleasant fleeting moments we shared. May you rest in peace.
