Gerry & Family: I just heard about Paul's passing and wanted to send along my deepest condolences and warm thoughts to you all. I'm currently sailing my boat in the Abacos in the North Bahamas for the winter and will not be able to see you all in person. Paul was a great influence on me early in my career and imparted to me a sense of service and ethical standards that has stayed with me until this day. He was a true mentor in the best meaning of that word. Please take care of each other during this difficult time and remember the warm thoughts of a lot of people are with you today.

Several years back i bought a Cadillac at an auction. Always wanted one so I won the bid. The first trip with it was to Hamilton to see a friend. Well if the transmission didn't go . Had to have it towed home. A month later go out to play with the hickories in one of our tournaments ,heading to Hamilton again it breaks down at the exact same spot. I manage to get to a restaurant and park it and who shows up but Paul. Tell him what happened and off we go to play. He saved the day for me but he never let me forget about the Cadillac . Every time we met he'd say,"buy any more Cadillacs Vern ." No Paul I have not. I laugh every time he asked. He had a good since of humor. He'll be missed by all who knew him.

I loved watching the fun conversations that my dad,'Uncle' Earl and Paul had whenever they had a chance to visit at our family home. You could tell they were related because they looked so much alike. Paul and Gerry invited Grace and I to stay overnight at their home and we had a lovely time especially listening to Paul's ghoulish stories while Gerry got to do all the work. Thinking of all of you with love and deepest regrets, Jan and Doug

My condolences to Gerry and the Sorley family.I will always have the memories of Paul not only from our association with Rotary but of the assistance he provided to me and my family in our times of loss. I will also always remember his dedication (obsession) with Wooden Sticks golf and the delight when I gave him a set of clubs ,circa 1920's,that belonged to marg's dad. I would have attended to talk to you personally I now live 2 plus hours north of Toronto and cannot be there on Monday. Please know, however, that my thoughts are with Gerry at this time.

I had the honour of meeting Paul on a number of occasions and at all times I was impressed by the presence he had in the room. Always a Funeral Director I strove to emulate. The significance of his life will live on in the many families he walked with during their difficult journey.
