Obituary of Vernon Walters

Walters, Vernon Leslie "Les" - Passed away on October 16, 2012, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Walters. Loving father of Cheryl, Susan, Vernon (Debbie), Brian (Iris), David (Pat), Dennis (Catherine), Karen (Gaspare) and the late Leslie Joyce Castonguay (Roch). Dear grandfather of Tania, Jeremy, Stephanie, Jennifer, Derrick, Genevieve, Geoffrey, Liam and great-grandfather of Dravyn and Brandyn. Brother of Clifford and the late Nancy Walters, and the late Dolly and Jack Williamson. Les was a long time employee of Bell Canada, before retiring in 1982. He had a great love of family, his many pets and nature. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main St. N., (Markham Rd.), Markham, on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Complete Funeral Service in the Chapel on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Markham Stouffville Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Woodhaven Nursing Home and Markham Stouffville Hospital for all the wonderful care Les received.
