Craig Norton posted a condolence

Barbara, Sheryl, and Gale: I wish to send my condolences to you all on the passing of your husband and dad Gord Hanson. The Boardman family and I lived next door to you on Ramona in Markham for many years. You were such good neighbours to us back in the 70's and 80's. Lois and the Boardman's are no longer living but I have good memories of trying to keep our front yard as tidy as Gord kept his. It was a fun challenge. I have nothing but good memories of the Hanson family!

We are sitting here looking at pictures of our great Newfoundland trip. What a wonderful time we had with The Hansons. Thanks for the great memories. We send our sincere condolences. Joan and Ted

My heart is heavy with the passing of a giant of a man. Gord and Barbara were like second parents to me while growing up with Gale in Markham. Gord indulged our teenage frivolities and antics. Later in life, I learned to appreciate his excellent judgement of character which stemmed from his own integrity, honesty and genuine caring for others. He was a larger than life role model. He will live on in our hearts and his poems. Carol Gray
