Obituary of Dale Brumwell
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale on Monday, December 2nd, 2024 at Markham Stouffville Hospital in his 83rd year.
Dale was a very hard working man, retiring from Loblaw’s in 2002 after 43 years. He never failed to make his family and loved ones around him proud. He loved golfing in his younger years, spending time at the cottage in the summers, and always enjoyed playing card games with family and friends. Alongside a life well lived, he was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather as well as an incredible man. He fought a brief battle with lung cancer but even in the hospital, his comical personality would never go unnoticed.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Maureen, his daughters Kimberly and Barbara, and granddaughter Hannah. Pre-deceased by brothers Dean (Marg) and Neal (Darlene), and lovingly remembered by his sister Darlene (David) and brother Howard (pre-deceased Mary). Remembered by his sister-in-law Ann Brodie (pre-deceased Jack), niece Gail Brodie and close friend Arlene Taylor (pre-deceased Bill) as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends will be welcomed at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street Markham North, Markham, on Saturday, December 14th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm, service at 1:00pm with a reception to follow to share happy memories of Dale. A private interment will take place at Highland Memory Garden at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
We all miss you dearly.
