Obituary of John Dales Sutherland

John Sutherland, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2024 at the age of 70, surrounded by his family. 

He was born on December 30, 1953 in Montreal.  John lived his life to the fullest with a big heart and realized his dream of flying as a hobby.  He was a successful entrepreneur who helped many companies innovate and achieve new potentials.  

John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ginette. He was the beloved father of Marc & Shannon and Justin & Leslie, cherished grandfather of Tristan, Owen, Graham and Cash and loving brother to Allan, Jane and David.  He is predeceased by his parents, Grant and Nancy Sutherland.  He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7th at 11AM.  Reception on site to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to Dying With Dignity Canada.
