Obituary of Thomas William Ryan

RYAN, Thomas William,

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Tom Ryan on August  10th; he passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at Markham Stouffville hospital; beloved husband of Adelaide; cherished dad of Adrian (Mary Shanahan), Siobhan (Brian Pratt), Grainne (Ben Forrest) and Simon. 

Loving grandfather to Ryan, Amelia and Brendan Forrest, Kira and Celia Pratt, Alex Ryan, and Shelby, Devin and Mya Ryan; great grandfather to Oliver, Max, Nora, Florence and Wally.

He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, particularly MichelleTulio and her family. 

He was a special man for all who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be deeply missed by many.  We will never forget his humour and his inquisitive mind, which he kept to the end. 

He was always generous with his time and always ready to help others.  In his earlier years he was very active at St. John’s Parish, (Toronto) and after moving to Markham he was an active member at St. Patrick’s Parish. 

Friends and family will be received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham, on Thursday August 15th 6pm – 8pm, and a funeral service will be held at St Patrick’s Church, 5633 Hwy 7, on Friday at 1:30 pm followed by a reception.

The family would like to thank the doctors and all of the caring staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital, for their kindness and consideration which helped to make Dad’s last days a little easier.
