NISSEN, Hartmut (Hardy) Theodor

Hartmut passed away on August 1, 2024, at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Husband of Sonia (nee Chronicle); brother of Renate; father of Barbara (predeceased), Andrea (Scott), Susan (Paul), and Sasha; grandfather of Jeffrey (Jeff), Kyle (Dea), Alexander, and Marika; great-grandfather of Marlee; uncle of Michael (Martina), Amely, and Thomas.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, November 1, 1937, Hartmut lived in many different countries before settling in the Greater Toronto Area in 1977. He was beloved by all who knew him.

Visitation will take place at DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, (166 Main Street Markham North, Markham) on Friday August 9, 2024 at 10am, to be followed by a Memorial Service at 11am. Light refreshments will be served at a Reception at 11:45am. The Interment will take place on the same day, at 2:30pm, at PINE RIDGE MEMORIAL GARDENS (1757 Church St N, Ajax).

Our family would like to thank the staff at Ontario Shores Geriatric Transitional Unit (GTU) for their care and support during this challenging time for our family.
