Obituary of Frances Laurentia Tillaart
Frances Laurentia Tillaart 1933 - 2024
Frances passed away peacefully on May 8 th at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Henry John
Tillaart. Frances was the 8 th of 11 children in her family and immigrated from Holland with her
husband Henry in 1958. After moving around a little bit, they settled in North Pickering in 1964 where
she has remained ever since. Early on, Frances worked as a house cleaner and on a chicken farm
before founding Dutchmaster Nurseries with her Husband Henry in 1971. The business continues to
be carried on by her family today. Frances always put family and church first and her house was
always a place where people were welcome. Family gatherings, parties, and extended stays by
various family members were commonplace in Frances’ household. There was always a pot of soup
on the stove for anyone who happened to come by. Over the years, Frances was proud to watch her
family and her nursery grow and flourish into what they are today.
