My wife, Marie sang for many years with John in the senior choir. She remembers one story when the conductor "Bill Targett" told the choir at Easter to sing loud for our Lord, John interrupted and asked "What if you can't sing" Bill replied "sing loud and get even" The choir was in stitches .We shared so many good times with John and Truce. I enjoyed our weekly volley ball games. We are blessed to have him and his lovely wife in our lives. Rest in peace brother.

What a shock to hear of John’s passing. For many decades he prepared the accounting for Orchard Park Landscaping and Clarence Beuving, his son Kevin and for me. John was part of the “family business” and that professional relationship became a fast friendship with both John and Truus. Beliefs were shared, lobster was shared and after my husband Clarence passed last year, John and I shared many thoughts on life itself. Condolences to the family and sympathy for your loss.

It is with great sadness that I learned of John’s passing. I knew him for many years, as a good friend and a member of the Knights. He had a great sense of humour, and we shared many laughs together. Our sincerest condolences to the Vanuden family. Bill and Chris May

On behalf of St.Patrick 9.30 a.m choir
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I was deeply saddened to learn of John’s passing. His exemplary kindness, thoughtfulness, and love for others truly led the way for all of us. Our choir and church community were blessed to have John’s voice among us. It was a privilege to have shared over 25 years with him.
John’s years in the choir were marked by joy, energy, and spiritual enrichment, which he generously shared through his singing and unwavering support. His significant contributions, particularly to our fundraising events like the Lobster-fest, were invaluable. Our choir, often described as a small church within our Parish—a sanctuary of prayer, support, and selfless assistance—flourished partly due to John’s instrumental involvement.
One of my fondest memories of John is from the Lobster-fest, where we sold raffle tickets together—the grand prize being a bottle of Mickey. The path of a beautiful soul leaves a trail of cherished memories. John’s kind spirit and generosity touched many lives, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.” May John rest in eternal peace, embraced by the loving light of Jesus, a fitting tribute to a life well-lived and his numerous contributions to the betterment of society. Our Father in Heaven has a new choir member.Rest in peace, dear John.
Dennis & Lynette Swamy and all members of St. St.Patrick Church choir. Markham

John was one of the first people I made friends with upon moving to Markham 30 years ago. During my first week at a choir practice John came up to me and said, "You look like a volleyball player". We ended up playing for 20 years together in the gym at St. Patrick's school. John was a very welcoming and friendly man, who found the humour in many situations. He and Truus opened up their home to me and many other new volleyball players over the years, always willing to serve beers and food. He will be deeply missed by me and my wife Lea. Rest in peace John.

To the bereaved family of John,
I have my fondest memory of John when I first joined the St. Patrick's volleyball group. This is the start of many friendship with parishioners and encouraged me to serve in church and give back to the community to this day. John will be missed and I pray for him, Truus and the whole family
