Dear family of Dan.
I am thinking about all of you, even though I know none of you, but somehow I do feel connected because of Danny.
Like Bruce Armstrong, I go way back to the beginning at Prolith; down at Brown’s Line on Lakeshore Blvd. Prolith was in a small section of a huge printing plant, Lawson Graphics.
I am older than Dan, but at the same time I was struggling to enter to enter the wondrous print world. One day Danny entered and from that day on he was always referred to as “New Guy”.
Danny was remarkable to me by his gracious charm; his ability to accept all the ribbing, sometimes over the top in my opinion. But that’s the way it was for an apprentice. I empathized and understood what Danny was undergoing and what he had to endure. Danny and I found a way to connect with all the disparate personalities we faced in order to be accepted - Hockey!
“New Guy”, Danny and I hit it off on the ice. I had initiated a Friday afternoon hockey game. In those days, we worked a 35 hour work week where we stopped at 1pm on Friday. I initiated and organized this as a way of equalizing and showing, although some of us were better at our trade this could validate something we all loved, the game. The “New guy” stuff stopped after he hit the ice. Danny and I with all humility on my part were exceptional when it came to the rest of them. But he as I were generous of spirit. These occasions also offered all of us the opportunity to meet others from other printing companies to move on and find success. Danny did that.
I left the print world, and taught Communications Tech. for 23 years while Danny, Bruce, and Paul continued and I visited them once up at Image Dynamics in the 1990’s.
I admired Danny and his partners for their tenacity and devotion to the world of print.
God keep you all and bless you with my memories of Danny. One funny Fung!
Sincerely,
Tony Pegg

Dear Sherri, Richard and Darryl. John and I have so many memories of time spent with your family and in particular with Sherri and Dan. We enjoyed many meals together over the years. Dan sure liked a good cut of red meat, and red wine. He was a strong supporter of his family, and Juneau who will miss the many treats he sneaked her. Dan was also a very infrequent golfer but boy could he golf. We will miss you Dan. So many memories and laughs. You left too soon. Your friends' John and Monika.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dan’s passing.
I had the pleasure of working very closely with Dan at both Prolith and Image Dynamics and considered him a brilliant craftsman and a wonderful friend.
I will always remember Dan’s wicked sense of humour and the laughter he brought into every workday.
It was obvious in many our conversations of how proud Dan was of both Richard and Darryl and how much he loved Sherri.
Please accept my condolences.
