It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jeanette Young MacDonald at the age of 95. Mom died peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Thursday, February 22 with her daughters by her side. She is predeceased by her loving husband Iain, daughters Lynda Duncan and Charlene Donohue (Jim) and special sister Margaret. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Debbie Edge (David), Susan MacDonald (David) and Heather Robertson (Rick). Cherished grandmother to 8 grandchildren and adoring GIGI to 10 great grandchildren.
Mom lived a full life, exceeding in every role she played be it wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, friend. Family was always very important to Mom. She loved to get together with the family to celebrate a birthday or holiday or other special occasion and always had a way to make each one unique and memorable. Mom graced this world with beauty, class, compassion, and love every day of her life. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. We pray she hears our most loving message: Mom, you are an angel that walked on this earth and we are so blessed to call you our mother.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 11 am on Saturday April 20th at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Markham. A reception will follow in the church hall followed by a private family internment at Elmwood Cemetery. Donations can be made to the CNIB, diabetes or charity of your choice.
