So saddened to find out just yesterday, Mar 29, from sources other than family, of Tante Leni's passing. Visited her not long ago and she looked better than ever and we shared some pictures of our grandkids (which she always loved ). Even though her memory was not what it used to be, she always enjoyed our regular visits, phone calls, hugs and sharing of space and reliving our past connections, as family, as her parents were my Father's Godparents. That was a big deal and they were instumental with assistance when Johann and Leni Buchert came to Canada, and we often visited and enjoyed their hospitality and love. Tina and her parents' visits to our farm are fondly remembered by our family. Pictures of Tina and Joey are in our family albums.
Deepest sympathies, and an ache in our hearts to hear of her passing. It is unfortunate that we had to find out when trying to contact Leni with one of our regular visits and phone calls. My mom and Leni enjoyed time together until more recently, when my mom couldn't make the trip anymore.
It was a shock to say the least. A mutual friend Peter Janzen let us know yesterday at which time we searched for an obituary on line.
My parents shared similar histories and stuggles, so I do wish her a well deserved "Rest in Peace". Be pain free and free in spirit for ever more. So sorry we couldn't see you off and be able to pay our final respects, as we did your parents, husband and son, but we didn't know. We always considered that we were like family and we know she did too.
Bye Leni and know that we Love you still.
Susi (Buchert) Abram and Jim Abram and family. Also Magdalena Buchert and son Heinrich Buchert...............oxoxoxoxo
