Linda was a wonderful person. I knew her at Queen's University. She always had time to talk with people, and she helped me to become a better person. To Rod and family, I laughed and cried a little as I listened to the celebration of her life. My condolences to all of you. She will be missed.

Dear Rod and family,
We are so sorry for your loss and want to extend our deepest condolences. We believe it is not a coincidence that we crossed paths with Rod and Linda last year. In search of our new home, it was truly a blessing to have found theirs. Throughout the process, they were both so friendly, caring, and kind. Though we only had a few interactions with Linda, her kindness, gentleness, and joy will never be forgotten. May God’s peace and comfort be with you and your family during this time.

Linda was a shining star at the WSIB where I had the pleasure of knowing her. She always had a fresh way of looking at issues and would go to the wall to support her team.
She was both respected and well liked.
My deepest sympathies to her family.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal.
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Rod and sons, my very deepest condolences. Linda was a rare human being who was very respectful of all. She had great integrity and never let politics get in the way of doing the right thing. She was compassionate and expected the best from everyone, and ensured they had the proper and timely resources to get the job done. I worked for Linda at WSIB and she was an amazing person who cared for her team.

Rod, Ben, Evan,
I am terribly sorry for your loss. I’ve been going through my memories, remembering Linda’s cool demeanour and hilarious comments in the face of our obnoxiousness as teens / young adults playing around at the Markham house or at the cottage. I’ll never forget those times and I’ll never forget Linda. She was the coolest mom and an amazing woman all around. Thinking of you guys.
Sincerely,
Ivan Tagarov & Family

To Rod, Benn, Evan, Sonia and family,
We are very saddened by the sudden passing of Linda.
We’re so lucky to have gotten to know her.
She, along with Rod, warmly embraced our family when Benn married our daughter Kate.
We also shared the special bond of being doting grandparents to precious Chelsea.
Linda’s legacy will live on through Benn, Evan and Linda’s mini-me, Chelsea.
She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

To Linda's family,
I know Linda from our work together on the Board of Oak Valley Health. In sitting on numerous Committees with Linda, I got to know her passion and commitment, her attention to detail and her desire and openness to hear alternative views. Although our time together in person was limited due to Covid and the move to virtual meetings, Linda was always 'all in' and asked thoughtful, challenging questions. She also took the time to reach out to provide feedback and words of appreciation. I have a recent personal note that I had saved because it made me feel so good. What a wonderful quality to have .... I will miss her. RIP Linda.
There are no perfect words to make your sadness go away but hoping you find comfort in knowing how many of us wish we did.

To Linda's family - Linda became my boss in 2008 when she took a chance on me and appointed me to the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, a tribunal she chaired. She was a wonderful colleague - she modeled best practices in hearing management, decision writing, and how to be empathetic and sympathetic to the many parties who came before us. I enjoyed hearing about her family, whom she evidently cared deeply for and of whom she spoke often. Linda created an environment at our Board that was collegial, collaborative, and fun. She will be missed.

I first met Linda in May 2006 when she was the Chair of the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, among others. She became a mentor and a friend. We then worked closely together on several other tribunals over the years until her retirement. Linda had a passion for public service and in particular protecting the rights of the unrepresented parties. I watched her give many presentations to members of the administrative tribunal world where she was truly inspirational, encouraging all present to become the best adjudicators possible. Linda was the consummate leader whose work ethic and dedication were unmatched. I valued our professional relationship, but more so our friendship. She will be missed.
My sincerest condolences to Rod, Benn and Evan and the rest of Linda's family.

Dear Rod & family,
We are so sorry for your loss, and want to extend our deepest condolences. Linda and Rod were always warm, welcoming, and friendly neighbours as soon as we moved in. We got to know each other through having pandemic puppies on the same street. We will never forget the doggy play dates and walks we took at the school park, at Rod and Linda’s backyard, and even just the nice chats on their driveway every time we walked Bernie.
When Linda found out I was pregnant, she so thoughtfully dropped off a gift for our baby that she signed off as Carter (their beloved dog) having picked out - it was a book called Fluffy Tales and we LOVED it. She is the coolest mom if I have ever known one!
We are so grateful to have been neighbours and will never forget the impact your family has had on us, as I’m sure everyone on the street can agree.
Keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers ❤️,
Justin, Karen, Bernie & Ollie

I’m so sorry for your loss. She was very caring and made me feel heard. I would have never have known she knew who I was at work until she came right to me at my work desk (many floors below hers), to tell me how appreciative she was for the projects, sharing of knowledge and length of time I had worked at the Board (tribunal). She sat and talked with me. I told her she had met my son at a First Nations Aboriginal feast and she remembered. I told her how impressed he was when he said his mom works for you and she corrected him “your mom works with me”. Two people changed by her words and time.

Please hold onto the thought that she's found peace and is in a loving place now. Our hearts, our thoughts, and our support are with you and your family. We're here for you, always, just a call away.
