COZENS, Christine May

Died peacefully in her sleep at home after a lengthy battle with cancer on Friday, February 9, 2024 in her 84th year. Born in Epping, Essex, England on December 9, 1939. Beloved wife to Ernest James Cozens (deceased). Loving mother to Kevin and Sharon. Sister to Peter Lawrence. Lovingly remembered by her family, friends, members of two local knitting groups, and the filk community. She will also be missed by her two cats, Trixie and Misty, and by the birds, chipmunks and squirrels she enjoyed watching and feeding in the garden she tended.

Special thanks to her nurse, Mehdi, whose care, compassion and kindness gave her comfort in her last days. Thank you also to Drs. Kara Shariff, Lai, Leung, and Rose, and Clinical Nurse Consultant, Kendra Macdonald, for their compassionate care. Additional thanks to the various PSWs who treated Mum with dignity and respect while tending to her personal care.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street N. (Markham Road), Markham on Saturday, February 24 at 2 p.m. with the service to be held at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sunnybrook Hospital (Odette Cancer Centre), Markham Stouffville Hospital or Toronto Cat Rescue.
