Obituary of June Katherine Molnar
Forever Loved, Never Forgotten ...
June Katherine Molnar
September 7, 1935 – January 19, 2024
It is with much sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our loving and endearing mom June at the Amica Little Lake Retirement Home in Barrie, Ontario on January 19, 2024.
June leaves this world to join her youngest son, Joel Stephen Andrew Molnar (January 1991); her husband, Richard Molnar (June 2007); sister, Irene Andrews (May 2006); brother, Stephen Bernath Jr. (January 2022); parents, Stephen and Mary Bernath.
June leaves behind her loving children, Randall (Edie), Deborah (Chris), Cynthia (Paul) and Alison (Jeff); her grandchildren, Adam (Michelle), Theresa, LisaMarie, Cole (Christa), Julie (Kolby), Ashleagh, Wesley, Stephanie; her great grandchildren, Bradley, Audrey, Anna, Ryker, Maria, Oaken, Blake, Zoey; her brother-in-law, Robert Andrews; uncle, Alex Stevenson, along with other nephews, cousins and close family friends.
As a Markham resident for over 59 years, June participated in many community activities from teaching Sunday school to neighbourhood charitable activities such as Save the Children, and auxiliary work with the local Legion.
June worked initially at the Dominion grocery store, while raising a growing family that eventually led to a bookkeeper position at Reesor’s Marmill, a long-standing Markham feed mill for many years. She then expanded her business acumen becoming a fully licensed Insurance Broker and co-owner of J & R Molnar Insurance Brokers Inc.
After many successful years as a business owner and operator June very happily retired to a world of grandchildren and cottage life. It was in her later years following heart surgery, that her battle with Alzheimer’s commenced and ended up taking her from us.
June will be forever cherished in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
