You could not help but like Harry. A common sense man who knew what he liked and didn't, the difference between right and wrong. A person of strong character, so it is easy to understand why he was so respected by others.
I know Harry best from Cornerstone - care group, sports, kids but mostly from the Audio Visual Team. Back in the day, we were essentially a pop up church at a local community center. We couldn't leave the AV equipment there so it was packed in an aging cube van. Harry was one of the faithful who would trek in the early hours to retrieve the van........problems would arise when the temperatures began to drop. Reliable Harry would always, always get that van started and de-thaw the frozen equipment (hair dryer comes to mind). Service would simply go on as if nothing had happened. It was behind the scenes where Harry would be at his best. An unsung hero.
Shari and Tara - I am so sorry for you loss of Harry, your husband and dad. I can only hope these words can help your journey.

Some fond memories I have of Harry were of playing on the same Ultimate team together about 20 years ago. I was new to the sport and was so impressed at how methodical Harry ‘handled the disk’ on the field and when sharing his strategic knowledge to me. Then, a few years later, we played pickup basketball together. Now, Harry really impressed me as being one of the older guys he still held his own and always played with a smile! I thought in my mind and hoped that when I was older, I would still be able to hold my own and shoot hoops with a smile like Harry did.
However, what I’ll remember and miss most about Harry are all the stories and life experiences we’d talk about which happened a lot more frequently since we became neighbours during the last 8 years. We’ve had quite a few parking lot chats which were always spontaneous, often filled with smiles and then more of a serious tone as health issues started coming up.
Thanks Harry for always being real and thoughtful! Now may you rest in peace sharing lots of stories with the angels in Heaven and with our Lord Jesus my dear Brother in Christ Harry!
Shari, Tara, and Ahmad we’re so sorry for your loss and pray God’s love and peace comfort you during this difficult time.

Harry was a beloved child and a faithful servant of our holy God. He loved and supported his wife, Shari, and his daughter, Tara with all his heart. He also poured his heart and strength into serving the Cornerstone Christian Community Church in Markham. I remember stories about Harry digging out the Cornerstone track where our church worship and Sunday School supplies were kept when we didn't have a home building many years ago. He worked selflessly in setting up AV equipment for Sunday worship for many years. His was a life of faith and service. We can be assured that Harry is now in the warm embrace of Lord Jesus.
Our hearts and prayers go to Shari, Tara, and their family. Let us know how we can serve you.
