Please accept our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the entire Berchard family in the loss of your beautiful Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was a lady. It is hard to fathom that her presence and voice will no longer grace our Sunday services and the Fidelis funeral choir. The Fidelis choir and our church community were privileged to have had her with us. Father Rick in his homily did a perfect summary of the significance and modeled behavior of Mary Lou’s spiritual life and journey. Where a beautiful soul travels, beautiful memories remain. Rest in peace.

Cath and I were so sorry to hear that Aunt Mary Lou had passed. We also have so many fond memories of spending time with your family. We always made a point of stopping at Mom and Dad's anytime Aunt Mary Lou and Uncle Vernie were in town. There were nothing but good times, and the odd scotch!
You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Family of Mary Lou and Vern: My condolences. My wife and I met your parents- Mary Lou and Vern in the Diaconate Formation Program in the early 1990's. We had questions- practical questions of being a Deacon and spouse of a Deacon. Mary Lou and Vern always had practical, prayerful responses filled with hope and often humour. Yes, Mary Lou displayed such diplomacy, shared such wisdom and clearly had little time for "fools'- other than prayer. I agree with your obit: she is a 'force'.
Blessed are each of you who experienced her love; her examples of her deep faith in Jesus Christ, and joy in life.
Keeping both Mary Lou and Vern in my daily prayers.

I am saddened by the loss of Mary Lou... such a generous and loving person. We have been neighbors and fellow parishioners of the Bechard family since 1975... when my wife, and best friend, Louise was in her final days, Mary Lou visited and gifted her with a soft, hand crochet blanket, which Louise held in comfort. Mary Lou truly lived the gospel!
Deepest condolences to all the Bechard family.

So sorry for your loss. I found Aunt Mary Lou to be the matriarch of the family such a caregiver to anyone. Although you lived so far away thank goodness for Facebook to keep us together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
RIP Aunt Mary Lou and say hi to Uncle Vernie
Love

My sincere sympathy to you all. Mary Lou was my Godmother and my Mothers dear friend and neighbor in Chatham . We lived across the road on Glenwood . The last few years we had reconnected. I valued her friendship and her messages. Last week I was thinking about her and thought I’d called her. I’m so glad I did. She had said she wasn’t feeling well and was in bed. We talked for over an hour. We had such a lovely visit on the phone. She said my call made her day. But she made my day!!! She shared things about when I was born and her love for my Mother. She spoke of her amazing family and her loving husband. You all were truly blessed to have such an amazing loving Mother. Thank you Norene for reconnecting us! I send you all my sincere sympathy. May time help to heal all your hearts. Sincerely Beth (Harwood) Studnicka.
