Obituary of Christine Veronica Gibson
Forever Loved, Never Forgotten
A life on earth has ended and has begun with joy in heaven. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Christine Gibson. She died peacefully at her home on December 30, 2023. She is preceded by her husband Larry Gibson who passed in 2003 and survived by her two children, and four grandchildren. Born in Jamaica on August 20, 1935, Christine begun her career as the post master general for Kingston Jamaica. She moved to Canada in 1963, where she met and married the love of her life Laurence Gibson. After the birth of her children, she stayed at home raising them with love, strong values and good food; while working part-time as Mary Kay Representative where she achieved Pink Cadillac status. When her children were older, she returned to work full-time at the Royal Bank in Toronto as Head Office Administrator for the VP of finance at their main branch. In her retirement she cared for her sick husband with kindness and patience, and took up flower arranging helping out part time at Metro Flowers. Christine did not hesitate to speak her mind, loved deeply and approached her life with fierceness, and sense of humor that will be missed by those who knew her well. She will be dearly missed by her children Robert (wife Angela), and Tricia and her grandchildren Joshua, Jada, Joseph and Zachary. Christine was always surrounded by her family who celebrated everything with her. She is survived by her siblings Maurice, Joan, Rose and Sam. Christine’s favourite song and example of her life before Christ was “Spirit of the Living God, Fall Afresh on Me”. Visitation will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home on Main Street, Markham on Friday, January the 5th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January the 6th at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home. Flowers may also be sent to Dixon-Garland Funeral Home. For those who wish to attend Christine’s funeral, we would love it if you could honour her by wearing something a little red (her favourite color).
