Today i was watching a Youtube video of liverpool footballer Ian wright. Ian wright talks about his love for a Teacher who changed his life. His name was Mr. Pigden. Mr. Pigden was paramount in shaping him to the man he would become.
I immediately googled Mr Craig Sugden to see if i could find any information on him and was horrified and heartbroken to find his obituary. Mr Sugden was MY Mr. Pigden. Being in his classes and groups at Archbishop Romero were exactly what a lost and troubled boy needed at that time. I never forgot his name and face after all these years and hoped, one day, that I'd be able to reconnect and say thank you. RIP Mr Sudgen, you made an immense impact on me.

Mr Sugden was my grade 9 typing teacher back in 97' Archbishop Romero CSS, and later my martial arts instructor introduction of GojuRyu. Majority of my high school days were mostly hanging with him and seeking some advices of life. He was the most infectious character, open wide teacher/friend I've encountered.
A few year ago, I reached out to him through email introducing myself again and hoping he would remembered, it was was hazy for him to remember but he may had a slight memory of me and other names I mentioned. I was planning to visit him at the school he was teaching then. But life happened...and couldn't commit in making time.... and I was sadden to see that Mr Sugden has passed away after searching him on internet.
My condolences to the Sugden family. He was the best teacher that made a positive influences in my life and others that knew him. May his trip to the gates of heaven be wonderful and his memory be forever remembered on earth. God bless you Mr Sugden, and your family.
From the Dao Family,
Vinh/Uyen Dao.

I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Sugden's passing yesterday from a colleague. I had the pleasure of being Mr. Sugden's student at MDHS, and then seeing him again when I returned there as a student teacher. Mr. Sugden was an amazing teacher, but what I remember the most about him was how he was such a true testament to his faith at school. We had bonded over our shared faith at the time, and I still remember him telling me how he will always say 'God bless' in his head before reading out each student's name when he did attendance everyday. As a teacher myself now, I've found myself doing this too, in his honour.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Please know that he truly made an impact on all his students ' lives.

Dear Melanie, Rick and Julia,
Although Craig walks with the Angels now he will always be right by your sides.
Craig possessed many gifts. Among them were: a stellar wit; an ability to get to the core of a matter quickly and state it succinctly; and a steadfast devotion to his faith and the causes he believed in.
May you be comforted by all your beautiful memories and by how very proud he was of each of you.
God Bless.

My deepest condolences to Craig’s family and love ones.
The news of Craig passing bring back a lot of wonderful memories working with him at MDHS. He was a great colleague, mentor and friend.
While I was pregnant with my first child, Craig was super supportive, gave many great advices and suggestions. One of his suggestions was my son’s middle name (Luke). I asked Craig for parenting advices. He was humble and said - I was blessed to have these wonderful children and it’s all my wife work.
May all the memories you have of Craig help keep his family and loved ones strong during this difficult time.

I had the honour of working with Craig at Markham District High School for many years. He was always the consummate professional in the classroom --- inspiring and motivating his students. He was the best colleague --- supportive, creative, dedicated and blessed with a great sense of humour. Craig's devotion to his family was always apparent and we were lucky to be able to get to know Rick and Julia as students of MDHS. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Mr. Sugden, thank you for being a part of my high school journey. You were one of the kindest, smartest, and funniest teachers I've had, and you've inspired me to pursue business as a career in the first place. I wish I had the chance to say goodbye in person, but I know that you will be with us forever and watching us from above. Rest in peace.

Craig knew I was an avid gardener and he enjoyed showing me pictures each spring of the gorgeous "Beauty Bush" on their property. He was clearly very proud of his kids from forever with Rick an accomplished chess player and Julia doing amazing things in the kitchen. We did come to "words" each hockey season with I a die hard Leaf fan and Craig supporting that "other" team of red and white ;). Melanie and kids, the Mitchell Family is so sorry for your tragic loss.

I've had the absolute pleasure of being Mr.Sugden's student for a majority of my high school time. He not only was a fantastic teacher, but his personality and sense of humor made him such a great person to just be around and talk to.
From all the times I've joked with him in class, to the occasional moments where I passed him while biking, he always had a positive and friendly attitude, and wanted everyone to be the best version of themselves.
His impact on the development of both myself, and numerous other students is immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed by me and many, many others. Rest easy Mr.Sugden
