Obituary of Bernie Eric Tranter

Forever Loved, Never Forgotten...

Bernard Eric Tranter 

August 23, 1941 – November 12, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bernie Tranter on November 12th, 2023, in his 82nd year, at Markham Stouffville Hospital with family by his side. 

Those left behind to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Marianne Tranter (nee: Plouffe); his children, Brenda (nee: Tranter) Nikkel (Chris) and Jason Tranter (Jennifer), Lenny Jesseman (John Tranter and Robbie Jesseman);  his grandchildren, Joel Nikkel (Shayna), Dalton Tranter, Christopher Luciano; his brothers, Jack (Lyn), Kevin and Christopher. 

Bernie leaves this world to join his son, Jason; his parents Mary and John; his brothers, Gerrard, Micheal, Brian, Tommy, and his sister, Angela. 

Bernie was a very proud father and grandfather who worked tirelessly throughout his lifetime, with a favorite past time of working on cars. Bernie was always available to help a family member, friend or neighbour in need. He will be remembered for that smile that lit up the room and the fact he could charm the birds right out of the trees.  

He will be dearly missed by all of us! 

A Memorial Catholic Service will take place on Friday, November 17th, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North. A reception will follow service, all are welcome for a time of fellowship and refreshments.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernard may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stoke Foundation.
