Obituary of Maureen Hawthorne

Forever Loved, Never Forgotten ... 

It is with great sadness Maureen passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 4, 2023 at the age of 95.

Beloved and cherished Mother of Yvonne and husband Jim.  Much loved 'Nannie' to her grand-daughters Sharon and Heather and her great-grandchildren whom she adored Serena, Ashton, Maya and Ethan.  Dear sister to John and the late Rachel.

Maureen was a wonderful singer all of her life and greatly enjoyed music.  She was an incredibly strong and independent woman who was also very humorous.  She loved to spend many happy times with her family who she was very close to.  

She will be missed dearly and lovingly remembered by all those who knew her.

At home now with the Lord and reunited with her husband Edwin.

Family and Friends will be received at Dixon Garland Funeral Home for visitation at 166 Main St. North in Markham on November 10, 2023 at 1:00pm.  This will be followed by the funeral Service at 2:00pm.
