Obituary of Eileen Robson
ROBSON, Eileen - Passed away peacefully and surrounded by love, on the morning of Sunday, April 30, 2023. Predeceased by her parents James and Alice Craig, brother Tom (May) Craig, sister Davina (Frank) Weir and little sister Alice (Ken) Pedersen. Eileen is now reunited with her late husband, Geoffrey, and will be greatly missed by her sons Chris (Janet) and Cameron. She was a proud grandmom and loved her grandsons Aidan and Brendan who will miss her. She will be remembered fondly by her brother-in-law Ashley Robson and his wife, Eunice, plus the many nieces and nephews, she adored in England and California.
Eileen was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England where she met her husband Geoffrey and married in 1954. They immigrated to Montreal in 1956 where Eileen worked at McGill University until having her son Christopher. Five years later Cameron was born and Eileen was still determined to stay at home and raise her boys until they were old enough to look after themselves.
In 1975, Eileen and the family moved to Toronto and settled in Markham in 1976. She decided to return to work in 1982 when Markville Shopping Centre opened and she was hired as the Assistant Manager of D'Allairds Women's Clothing Store. It's there where she she met a great group of women who she remained friends with long after the store closed. Eileen and Geoff enjoyed their retirement, spending time with family, travelling and volunteering at the Markham Senior's Centre.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful people who touched Eileen's life as she navigated through the past few years. The amount of love and caring she experienced was immeasurable and greatly appreciated.
We'd also like to thank Marguerite and Sandy who have been there for Eileen and the family through the good times and helped when we needed it most. We couldn't have done it without you and we consider you part of our extended family.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home.
