Obituary of Erle Leonard Hoover

Hoover, Erle Leonard - January 20 1949 – September 16 2023

Passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Saviour, on September 16, 2023 at the age of 74.

Beloved husband of Helen (Wagg) for 54 years. Loving Dad to Angela (Mark) Neuman and Cheryl (Mark) Settle.

Adored Grandpa to Alyssa, Douglas and Caleb. Survived by his siblings, Karen (Richard) Burkholder, Robert (Dona) and Janet (Stephen) Hume.

Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Thelma (Grove).

Erle was an Electrical Contractor for 40 years in the Markham/Stouffville and surrounding area. In retirement, Erle enjoyed spending more time with family and friends, his “shop” friends and the classic car hobby.

We would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the Meadows of Aurora and Dr. Andy Patterson of the York Region Hospice Palliative Care Team for the wonderful care they gave Erle.

Family and friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), on Thursday September 21^st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday September 22^nd at Northridge Community Church of the Salvation Army (15338 Leslie St, Aurora, ON) at 1pm. Reception to follow. All are welcome to join the family for the Committal Service at the Wideman Mennonite Cemetery (10530 Highway 48, Markham, ON) following the reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northridge Community Church or the Evergreen Hospice.
