Jocelyne Tunnard

Jocelyne Tunnard passed away peacefully after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s on Friday, August 17, 2023 at the Carriage House Retirement Home in Oshawa Ontario at the age of 89. She was the loving wife to her late husband Charles Tunnard (1983) and mother to her late son Randy Tunnard (1980). She is survived by her three sons Kenneth (Wendy), Bradley (Claudia) and Geoffrey (Angela), her three grandchildren, Charlie, Sam and Jessica, her brother Leslie Carmichael and Sister Jackie Ferguson.
Jocelyne Winnifred Cynthia Carmichael was born in Sudbury Ontario to her parents Robert John Carmichael and Beatrice Daisy Wicks on April 7 1934. Jocelyne was the youngest of twelve children. Having lived in Markham most of her life, she always helped those in need and was a dedicated Alter Guild member at the Grace Anglican Church in Markham for over thirty years. She also volunteered at the Church Rummage Sales and was a member of the Anglican Women’s League. Jocelyne was also a long-time volunteer for the Markham Fair and Markham Daily Bread Foodbank. Always there to help others, while she could, she dedicated her life to giving back. Jocelyne’s hobbies included needlepoint, sewing, embroidery and many other needle crafts. She loved classical music and was an excellent baker.
Visitation will be held at the Dixon Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St N Markham, on Monday, August 28th, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A small service in the Chapel will be held at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception in the lower hall at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Jocelyne’s memory to either the Canadian Marfan Association (www.gadacanada.ca) or Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca).
