Obituary of Walter George Jones

It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our father Walter George Jones.  Walter, age 95 of Markham Ontario, passed peacefully surrounded by family at Markham Stouffville Hospital on June 26th, 2023.  He is pre-deceased by his mother Florence Jones (nee Reeve), and his father Walter Jones as well as his sister Dorothy Hoffman and his brother Harry Jones.  Walter is survived by his sister Madge Simard. 

Loving Dad of Deb Warga, Derrick (Barb) Jones and Marilyn (Brian) Howden.  Loving Grandpa of Grant, Hope and Jeff Warga, Frances (Jeremy) Moore, Hillary (Holly) Jones, Mathew (Kirsten) Howden and Laura (Clay) Howden.  Loving Great Grandpa of Jonathan and Nathanael Warga and Madeline and Evelyn Moore.

Walter was born in Verdun Quebec.  He spent many loving years married to his first wife Betty Jones (nee Coleman).  After her passing Walter married Dorothy Milligan and enjoyed many loving years until her passing. 

Walter had a very strong work ethic.  He worked at Continental Can Company both in Quebec and Ontario as plant superintendent.  After he retired, his career continued in consulting. 

Walter had a passion for baseball and was a pitcher in his younger days!

Walter was very much a family man and passed his strong family values and work ethic to his children.  Walter worked very hard to provide for his family.  He took great pride and loved spending time with his grandchildren and getting to know his great grandchildren.  Family times were very special to him!

He is loved and missed dearly.

Funeral service will take place at Grace Anglican Church, 19 Parkway Ave.,  Markham Ontario on Friday July 7th, 2023.
